The Home of Japanese Studies in 探花精选
The British Association for Japanese Studies is a UK-based charity of scholars and students dedicated to researching, teaching, and publishing about Japan. We organise conferences, provide funding to support students in this field, and publish Japan Forum 鈥 Europe’s leading Japanese Studies journal.
BAJS was established in 1974 and the Association was launched in order to promote the study of Japan both in the United Kingdom and internationally, in particular by stimulating teaching and research.
BAJS has a thriving Japan Chapter to allow members conducting research in Japan to interact with other scholars in the country.
REPRESENTATION
BAJS Council keeps abreast of matters which may affect the membership, and represents the interests of Japanese Studies to other bodies.
FUNDING AND PRIZES
BAJS offers a range of funding to postgraduate students to support research and conference attendance.
JAPAN FORUM
BAJS is proud to publish Japan Forum, Europe’s leading Japanese Studies journal.
